The site lies south of the Himalayan Main Central Thrust in the Lower Crystalline Nappe (FUCHS & FRANK 1970) or 'zone des écailles' (BORDET et a. 1972) and Main Central Thrust Zone (ARITA 1982) in Precambrian calcareaous schist (ARITA 1982: 13).

Brief description
North of Phiute (or Giute) the trail to Jomosom passes for the conveniance of travellers and muli or donkey caravans for a short distance through an artificial tunnel of walking size.
