Description
An unspecified, locally known cave is said (Kharpran Daly, B D 1997 Mss item 5) to exist somewhere in the vicinity of »Nongkyllam« or Nongkhyllam (note 1). ETYMOLOGY: The recorded cave name »Krem Langiumaw« (Kharpran Daly, B D 1997 Mss item 5; KHARPRAN DALY, B D 2006 s.a.: 19) seems to be a either version of the Khasi 1. "Krem 'Langñiuhmaw", which is not only a short form of 1.1 "Krem Blangshñiuhmaw" (note 2), »Cave [of the] Goat Hair Rock« but also of 1.2 "Krem Phlangshñiuhmaw", »Cave [of the] Bearded Grass Rock« (note 3) or of 2.
