Description
On a tour along the –>Kishanganga (Kishan Ganga) Major N.N. Thomas (note 1) came across an unspecified cave (item no. I) situated »on the north side of Kishanganga River opposite the post office at Dawar [note 2]. Sheet 43-J/14.« SITUATION: »Dawar« (Major N.N. Thomas, undated Mss in: Glennie (s.a.): Appendix B: Kashmir State) seems to be the Dawal (N34°38': E074°52') shown on AMS sheet NI43-06 Srinagar (U502 series, 1959 edition) on the right (northern) bank of the Kishanganga (Kishan Ganga) about 10 km (or so) on foot approximately south-west of –>Chorwan (N34°39': E074°54') and some 20 km (or so) roughly east of –>Bagtor (N34°41': E074°41': 7'500 feet = 2286 m asl).
