Either a cave called Nongjri Chunapathar or a cave situated in an area of that name, is said (note 1) to be found at a walking distance of 2 km from from Khanjoy (N25°13'30”: E91°03'40” WGS84) and on the left-hand side of the road to Nongkhyllam (N25°14'48”: E91°07'48” WGS84). ETYMOLOGY: The Khasi place name -Nongjri' (village of the [sacred] fig tree) seems to be the nearest / relevant village.
