Description
A whirlpool in granite contains rock art (note 1) depicting ibex (Capra sibirica) hunters or riders with bow and arrows, and every now and then a circle or sign reminiscent of a gate. SITUATION (TERRA 1940): Upon arriving from Kashmir via Sodschi La (note 2) and Dras (note 3) the cave lies 9 km (de TERRA 1940: 49) on foot or horse-backshort of Kargil (N34°34': E076°06', AMS sheet NI43-07, India Road Atlas, Eicher Goodearth 2006: 2 D2).
