Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 15/07/2016

A spring and probable karst rising is briefly mentioned by CÍLEK et al. (1989: 4) and described to some detail by KNAB (1990: 14, no. N18): »Behind a wall lies the artificial pond. It is square and covers an area of 22.46 m in square, the sides measure 4.75 m and 4.72 m respectively. The main confluence lies in a subaquatic fissure of 25 to 28 cm width. The fissure is blocked by boulders. One can explore the fissure below the water to a distance of 62 cm. It is questionable if the underwater fissure is diveable. On 1st October 1989 88 ltr/sec of crystal clear water emerged from the source.« One can reach Godavari Kunda (14.25 km as the crow flies to the south-east of Kathmandu) by regular bus. At St. Xavier's school, the terminal bus stop, one has to follow the road heading north-east for 300 m before reaching the fish farm (pisciculture), where the temple lies on the south-eastern side of the road.
