Description
Banabhatta in his seventh century AD novel, Kadambari (Purvabhaga 114-115), records [narrates?] the story of an Ujjain prince [note 1], Chandrapida, who, fighting Kirata and kindred tribes in the vast forests beyond Suvarnapura [note 2], saw a Shiva temple and a cave in its southern direction (note 3).
