Description

Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 15/07/2016

Two large, unexplored black spots, estimated to lie at approximately 4200 m and 4300 m asl, respectively, occur below strata bent into an anticline on a south-western spur of Bragpoche which bulges into the Chohang Khola (in the north-east of Dzong village), reducing this valley into an impassable gorge, and forcing the trail to climb from the riverbed over the top of the ridge into the upper part of the valley. Bragpoche Cave No.6 opens some 50 or 100 m above the trail, No.7 about 10 m below. Both objects remained unexplored. Presuming inclined strata get frost-shattered and the resulting debris is carried away by gravitation --as observed in the explored Bragpoche caves-- renders investigation of these dark spots uninspiring.
