Location

Jean-Claude White »… rode 2 or 3 miles [3 km or 5 km] up the valley in the hope of seeing a remarkable cave which we were given to understand was in the locality. We found several indentationes, before two of which were a gompa and a chorten, but nothing remarkable« (WHITE 1909 edited 1984: 180). SITUATION: About 3 km or 5 m upstream of »Gangyul, 4150 m, a little village in a narrow, flat valley close under the eastern glaciers of Chomolhari [note 1]« (WHITE 1909 edited 1984: 180). Herbert Daniel Gebauer - 02/02/2016

NOTE 1: »Chomolhari« (WHITE 1909 edited 1984: 180) or »Chomo Lhari« (India Road Atlas, Eicher Goodearth 2006: 27 F2) is indicated as the peak »Jomolhari .23997 [feet]« near N27°50’: E089°15’: 7'314 m asl on AMS sheet NG45-04 Phari Dzong (U502 series, edition 1963).
